We had a get-together at my house yesterday. It was long-anticipated, at least by me, because one of the families in attendance was from out of state. Out of state now for 3 years, Karen's family used to live here in this not-quite-sleepy town, yet not-quite-exciting town. Some of you know Karen. She used to blog and before she left my home today she threw a small bone about possibly returning to blogging. Some of you probably know her sister...and I'll have Mrs. Chicken know that I did give Karen a hug just for you.
But days like this, where we just had fun, things were relaxed...3 years didn't seem so long...(even as I took probably an hour to relax and chat because I am that kind of person), these are wonderful days. I hope for more days like these. How cool would it be to get our kids together again and again as they grow?
Our tire swing was a huge attraction for the kids that I really didn't see coming.
So exciting that there was always, always a line for its use.
We had a grill full of meat and a table full of (mostly fattening, but some good stuff) food.
I had no idea a tire swing would be so cool.
Then the kids started sobbing because some of the dads took the swing over.
honestly, men can be so juvenile, yet I laughed heartily then, at the moment, and again later as I remembered.

oh, looks like so much fun! It's great to be able to catch up with friends who you haven't seen in years - and have it seem as if no time had passed at all.
Wish I could have been there too. I miss my little sister a metric ton. Bonus? Finally would have met you! :) Looks like fun.
How come the moms were not out there swinging?!?!
Glad you had such a great get together!
Looks like so much fun I wish I could've gone too!
aww. i'm glad it was such a good time.
We are a good looking bunch of ladies, huh?
Kurt's STILL talking tire swings over here....
I think this is what they mean when they say 'Boys will be boys!'
That looks like so much fun! And TOTALLY love the tire swing. If I ever go west, I'm there.
That's so much fun - lucky!
We should have taken turns pushing each other on there. Then we would have REALLY been laughing! Ha!
Isn't it so rejuvenating to get together with good friends?! And, of course the tire swing was a hit. Kids don't need "real" toys...just tires and boxes!
