Random Thoughts #9

  • Yesterday afternoon my children ate ¾ of a pound of frozen peas as a snack. Straight from the freezer. You would have thought it was kid crack. They’d finish a bowl and come to me: More Mama?? (Signing “More” at the same time for emphasis.)

  • I know my son can hear perfectly well, (and assume my daughter can as well) but some days I wonder if I speak in a tone that is the wrong frequency for children to be able to hear. Are they like dogs?

  • I just want to say a big “F.U.” to the little old lady at the Christian Book Store the other day. (Pretty Christian of me isn’t it?) K was throwing a fit because I was making him hold my hand instead of letting him touch all the breakable things in the store. (I KNOW! What was I thinking??) The lady stood there and STARED at me, all the while shaking her head in disgust. Yeah, it was TONS of fun for me too. Thanks for the support.

  • I really like my free Sonicare toothbrush that I got from BzzAgent. My teeth feel extra clean after I use it. And that's always a good thing, right?

  • Once again I have a cold just in time for the holiday. I really love having to blow my nose every 3 minutes. On the plus side, I think it is almost done so I might be marginally healthy for Christmas.

  • I pulled January for hosting my Bunco group. Lucky me. Oh well, at least I get it over with early and can just go eat everyone else’s food for the rest of the year. I knew there was a reason I’d bought most of my Bunco prizes already.

  • Both of my kids are currently in a time-out as they decided to try to kill one another just moments ago. RC trucks are worth blood apparently.

  • I’m typing this off-line on my [family’s] new laptop. Our Christmas present from my husband. He networked it to our computer in the basement. It’s pretty sweet. I can see how this could be trouble too.

  • My son is now in his crib yelling “Mommy! I be nice! Mommy? [Where] Are you?” “Mommy down! I be nice!”

  • LATER NOW…

  • I put the computer away and still my kids were jumping off the sofa and tackling one another. Fun times.

  • What was up with the guy on Identity thinking that Bruce Jenner was a ventriloquist? Seriously? That's just plain embarrassing.

  • At supper, Craig asked M what will happen if Santa doesn’t have any snow for his sleigh. (Seriously, no snow in Minnesota. What’s wrong with this picture?) She thought about it for a moment then answered: “I guess we’ll have to cancel Christmas.” So there you have it. No Christmas this year.

  • But just in case this IS Christmas this year, I want to thank all 10 of my readers (5 of whom are family members) especially those readers who comment (none of my family members.)! (Because I am a comment junkie.) Merry Christmas!!
