Simply Joy Sunday - Vacation Edition

Craig told the kids to run to the tree and back a few times while we were waiting for the rest of the family to catch up to us at one of our scheduled stops along the way. We always stop and get some meat for the week.

And the traditional photo by the sign as soon as we arrive. The kids are always full of excitement and ready to go explore but we manage to wrangle them long enough for the photo.

Sandy baby toes. Ms. D was completely exhausted from playing in the sand. She's a beach baby now.

We cooked hot dogs over the campfire, as is the tradition the first night. And you can't have a campfire without eating s'mores, right?

Of course we got a few miles down the road to come here and Craig realized we forgot the taco meat he'd prepared and frozen so we didn't have to cook it up here on our night to cook. Whoops. So, looks like we'll be cooking after all.

I also wanted to make a Greek salad that has tomatoes, black olives, feta, cucumbers and artichoke hearts, but I forgot the artichokes. (My favorite part of the salad.) Last year I forgot the feta, this year, artichokes. **shakes fist in air** Next year I vow to remember all ingredients...or make something different.
