With Ms. D's first birthday rapidly approaching, so begins the birthday party season and general utter madness that overcomes me when I think about planning parties. I have issues people.
Although I am starting the season with a relatively low-key celebration for Ms. D since it is her first birthday and I don't want to scare the poor girl too early.
I'm about half-way finished with making her invitations (which will be mailed to just family) and I think they're pretty cute. I have to decide on what we'll be eating. I'm leaning toward making pizza since my tiny little bundle of energy can put away an adult-sized piece of pizza in one sitting. Although she is also quite fond of macaroni and cheese. I'm not sure where she puts all this food since she is so little. I'm thinking she might have a hollow leg.
I'm looking for suggestions for what to give her for her birthday though. Honestly, by the time the third child comes along we already own almost everything. I was thinking about getting one of those ride on cars that have the pole thing so the parent can push the child. Anyone have an opinion on those?
I can't believe my baby is going to be one year old in just a little over a month.

I can not beleive she is turning one. WOW. I know what you mean about owning everything, in fact I can not even remember what we ended up getting Ava for her first birthday :) I've heard that those cars are great though, but that is one of the few things we do not have!
Sadly, one year old birthdays seem forever ago here, but I completely understand how diffcult it becomes buying gifts for the younger children when it feels like you already own every toy possible. At this age, we got our youngest a riding car, one of those like the Little Tykes mini coupe, but it was a Wiggles little red car. Um...he's 7 now and it's still in my living room! I need to seriously clean things out!
Wow, I can't believe she's turning 1 already! Whoa, time flies.
Having 2 boys I probably don't have the best suggestions for you for gifts, but the best gift we got our son for his 1st b-day was this little b-ball hoop that he played with all the time. The indoor kind.
Aw, save your money, she'll never know the difference. Just kidding!
A little stuffed beanie baby thing is good because they can chew on those. But the chocolate cake is the best present for any 1 year old!
Why not a tricycle with a handle?
We got Ethan a Little tykes Car for his first birthday :)
Wow, a year already. That's amazing!
I can't remember what all we gave Fly for his first birthday, but I know one thing was a set of those large cardboard blocks. And maybe that was it. He got so many presents from family and friends anyway...
Aww...that first year just flies by. And, so does the second for that matter. We're already halfway through it. Eeek! Can't wait for birthday pics!
Wow she's turning 1 already?!ave fun planning the party!
The push cars are fine if you just want to go around the neighborhood. But, they are kinda useless if you actually WALK places because there is no place for stuff.
