For Maddie

I first heard about Maddie Spohr when I read Shawn's (aka Backpacking Dad) post about being hit by a goat several months ago. The post made an impression on me then (and I'm too lazy to find it to link to it directly) and spurred me to donate to the March of Dimes in support of Maddie's team for the walk. Maddie had RSV then, and my own little Ms. D was sick with a cold. I couldn't imagine going through worse with someone so tiny and dear.

I would link to Maddie's mom, Heather's, blog but it is getting so much traffic that it is constantly down.

Maddie passed away on Tuesday. Her bright smile is gone.
