You know how there are some days you just shouldn't have gotten out of bed? Yep, today is one of those days. And it's only 11 o'clock.
First, I overslept and had to rush to get Miss M ready, her lunch packed and to school on time. To accomplish this I skipped my shower. I know, you can smell me through the computer.
After she was dropped at school I decided to try to find myself a video game...because I'm a video game nerd. We were going to go to Best Buy, but they didn't open until 10 so K and I went to Hobby Lobby and then to Target to kill some time before Best Buy opened. (Seriously, 10 o'clock? What kind of banker's hours are they?)
Hobby Lobby was uneventful.
Target, however, was not.
I was browsing the Christmas decorations, scouting the options for next year's Festival of Trees creation, when I looked up to see K sticking something in his mouth. Confused, I looked to see what he possibly could have found to put in his mouth. Unfortunately the only thing it could have been was some spilled Ice Melt crystals that were on the shelves.
Did you eat some of this? I asked him, not too calmly, pointing to the crystals.
Yes.
There was an employee unpacking boxes right there. My son just ate some of this! I told her and immediately started to cry.
Because, you know, it's poison. And it says all over the bottle to not eat it.
She, fortunately, was not the idiot employee that I usually get. She immediately got on her walkie and called code "whatever it was" and got management right there. It said on the package to give him milk so they went and got a bottle of milk. Another person called Poison Control. They called someone to go clean up the rest of the spilled Ice Melt.
So we sat in the food area and filled out the "incident report" while we waited for further instructions from Poison Control.
I asked K again if he ate the little rocks. No.
Where are they then?
In my tummy.
Well, that means you ate them. How many did you eat?
Just one.
Well, at least it was only one. Poison Control said he'll be fine. It's mostly salt and he didn't ingest very much of it.
Needless to say, we were done shopping at Target for the day.
We did, however, go to Best Buy and get my game. Because I need a distraction after all that.
Now, K and I are going to take a nap. When we wake up, we're going to pretend that the day just started.

Awww, poor little guy. I sure am glad he's ok! Maybe tomorrow he shouldn't salt his turkey.
So glad it turned out okay!
I hope things got better after a nap :)
Oh wow. That is one of those heart-stopping moments. So sorry you both went through that.
Oh man Heather! My heart skipped a beat reading that. Glad he's ok! And Jeff is always the funny guy, isn't he?!
