I'm improving!

I had my 6 month check up and cleaning at the dentist this afternoon.

I've had some gingivitis. There, I said it. It was especially bad when I was pregnant with each of my kids. At my previous check up, I had 49 spots of 4s. (1s, 2s and 3s indicate healthy gums, 4s gingivitis, 5s gum disease.) I also had several areas of bleeding which they also note on their chart.

Today I had 39 spots of 4s. And half as many spots of bleeding. My dentist commented on how much I've improved. Good for me.

I attribute the improvement to that free Sonicare toothbrush I got several months ago. Who knew that changing your toothbrush could make that much difference?

Now if I could just bring myself to floss regularly...

I've missed my last 2 dentist appointments, one of which was to have 2 cavaties filled. I don't think they will be happy with me!

I'll have to check out that toothbrush - sounds like it does a great job!

Oh My Gosh! 5s are gum disease?!? I've had a couple of 5s at my last check-up, and I am a routine flosser. Damn.

I'm a flossing and brushing machine--- because I absolutely HATE the dentist and want to go as INFREQUENTLY as possible. I also get my teeth cleaned every four months because well I hate to be scraped by that thingy-- so going every four months gets me in and out of the dentist chair in no time flat! Now if only my insurance woul dpay for the last visit (it only pays for two cleanings a year)

This dental nonsense started when I was thirty and FINALLY got dental insurance, I had to have so much dental work done that it scared the pants off me and I swore never again.

I took my 6 y/o son to the dentist today and he has his first cavity. I was so surprised since we don't eat lots of junk food. I guess I should be helping him with brushing his teeth nightly now.

I'm a flossing machine, I hate going to the dentist!
