How long are you going to irritate your family?

In the USA Weekend supplement last weekend, they had an article titled How long will you live? They have an online calculator, soooo for s's and g's I took the calculator.

Apparently I am likely to irritate my husband until I am 80. He'll have to take the calculator too, but I'm pretty sure he'll outlive me. His great-grandmother lived to almost 103, his grandfather lived to 90.

I'm a little surprised that my number is as high as 80.

So, how long will you be pestering your children??

Try the calculator at Livingto100.com.

Well, supposedly I'm going to live to be 84, but I think I'm more stubborn than that. I'm looking forward to grandbabies, but I'm thinking I want to still be around for the great-grandbabies. That pic of you holding your kiddos says it all!

I'm too superstitious to use the calculator. I would never want to know my "expiration" date because I would always be conscious of it which would make me miserable.

Ya, I know. I got hangups.

Jeff, I can see your point. But it really doesn't tell you how long you're going to live...they assign a point value for each question, depending on your answer it adds or subtracts from your life expectantcy. They also give you suggestions for how to "improve" your number.

Now you have me thinking though. Darn it.

One of my best friends... Never drank, never smoked always lived life the straight and narrow... worked out,, Ate orrganic..
Went for her annual check ups, looked after herself in general was just diagnosed with nonHodgkins Lymphoma...
And even though she went to the doctor eight weeks ago and given a perfect bill of health to find out three weeks later, out of the blue with a chronic back ache, that it was not a herniated disk as thought.. She was told she is in stage four cancer... too scary for words...
and way too sad to articulate... I feel for her, her children...

and all the while she should live to a hundred...

I took a similar test one time that gave me 98. Hmm....

And then if you take the Real Age test, which is sorta similar, I think one of the questions is how much over the speed limit you drive. And I'm like, what does speeding have to do with how you age?!

I went and took it. It said 82. Part of the advice to elongate my life was to not work so much..... as a stay-at-home mom, that's impossible!
