Preschool Parent-Teacher conferences

Yes, they have conferences in preschool too.

They commenced today.

I was told that my daughter plays almost exclusively with one boy in her class. That boy called her his "husband" yesterday, and moved so she could drive the pretend car. She loves to play dress-up and pretend. She's learning to write her name and it makes her very proud.

The teachers have to remind themselves that she is the youngest in the class because she is so tall. (So they don't expect her to do things she's not developmentally capable of yet.) But she's doing really well.

Oh, and she's QUIET.

HUH?

Surely her teacher has mistaken her for another child.

Surely.

Crazy, huh? Tater's teacher told me that she always potties at school. Clearly there is more than one Tater in her class. Because the Tater that I birthed isn't going to be out of her Pullups before the 8th grade.

I think my middle child has a split personality because she is a talker at school-- and only says one word sentences at home "get" "food" "drinkie" "bathie" and of course "no."

Yes, our son always changes into this completely different human being when he is in school, too. My boss' daughter was recently accused by her preschool teachers as hugging too much. Hugging to much? Is this getting a little over-analyzed or what?

I haven't had a conference with my pre-schooler's teacher yet. I didn't realize they had those.

Every time I asked Trent what he did at school, it's always the same thing "snack time"! Uh, so did you learn anything? Interesting huh?

I used to teach pre-K in my Life Before NewDotBaby, and lemme tell you: NO ONE believes us. No matter what we say about the kids, the moms would always go, "My so-and-so? Really? Are you sure? Because he always/never does that at home!" They ALL have these secret identities that they whip out for school. :0) It's pretty funny, I think.

...ask me if I still think so when it's my turn for a parent-teacher conference, though, okay?

Quiet... hmmmm. I go in next week for L's and they'll probably say she is loud. They really can shock us when they are around other people!

I told K's teacher (who was one of M's former teacher's that I was told M was quiet.

She gave me a funny look and said "really?" She describes M as bubbly and talkative.

Maybe M's current teacher was confused??
