Update on Mother Nature's Wrath...

Apparently we fared better than most of our neighbors. There were at least 15 trees down on our street alone. There must have been some straight-line winds in our little neighborhood. One family up the street has a tree on their roof, blocking their front door.

There is a new development that only has 2 houses built around the corner from us. A family just moved into one of the houses last week, not even, more like 3 days ago. I see they have a tarp on their roof where a tree decided to come into their living room to visit.

Us? Not a single downed tree. Just a bunch of branches and leaves. We're lucky.

Oh and the Durango? Not a scratch on it I'm told.

You ARE lucky, since it seems like your home was plopped smack in the middle of woods...

We too sustained very little damage -- just a large limb in the front yard. Our neighbor had a small tree down, but other than that, nothing!

We are, however, still in the process of repairing our roof and gutter from the last storm when we got a little "hug" from a large tree.

That storm sounds like a nasty one-- yikes! I grew up in San Antonio and we used to get terrible flooding-- but not so many trees into houses. The trees there are just overgrown brocolli

Sandy, we can't fathom why none of our trees fell, considering we have a few that have been dead for years and should be toppling anytime.

Bonnie, the city we live near had a major flood in the 70s, that I remember seeing as a kid. Since then, they did a big "flood control" project, which has been successful so far. I guess there are natural disasters anywhere, just different types.

Our power line got ripped halfway off our house due to the neighbors tree splitting in half and crashing down into our driveway. It blocked us in until RPU came and then Park and Rec came and dealt with hauling the tree away. Oy! And we weren't even in the worst of the storm!
