Sometimes I think it would have been easier to raise my kids if we had lived in an earlier time. In many ways things have gotten easier: automatic washing machines, microwave ovens, garage door openers, and the like. In other ways things are harder: questionable television shows, television available all the time, having to strap kids into car seats (while safer, makes for a loooong car ride when kids can't move about the vehicle like we used to as kids), sex as sales tool, drugs, I need to stop thinking about this before I get upset!
The modern convenience I would miss most, however, is the digital camera.
When I was pregnant with my first child, I told my husband that I thought we should get a digital camera. They were outrageously expensive then, and the quality of the photos was poor compared to now, but still I'm so glad we got one.
I love to take photos and I take them by the thousands. I'm of the mind that you need to take many, many photos in order to get just a few really great ones. But more than that, I just love being able to take many photos of my children, to take note of what they look like at each stage of their lives. Gone are the days of the third child having no photos taken simply because they had the bad luck of being born third. Now, I can take as many photos as I want and not have to worry about the expense of developing, or "wasting" film on "bad" shots.
There is a greater chance then, that I get a great one.

I agree with you, I couldn't live without the digital camera, its nice that you are able to hold about 800 pictures and not have to worry about changing film or like you said taking a bad picture. Very cute picture of the 3 kids!
Me too! We got ours when we found out that we were pregnant with Evan. It has been so great to not have to worry about film and all that stuff. I loved taking pictures with my film cameras but buying the film and then having to develop it was just so pricey.
We didn't get our digital camera until before I had my third. I find I take way more pictures now, for exactly the reasons you outlined.
That last picture of yours is a keeper.
I agree - I love my digital camera! Definitely take more pictures with it than the old film style camera!
Such great shots!
You're right, the more photos you take the better chance you have of getting good ones!
I take so many more photos now with my digital than I ever did with my regular SLR! It's insane. I think between my husband and myself, we took more than 200 photos on Fly's birthday!
Yeah I love my digital camera. I take it when we go to Upper Canada Village to see what life was like in the 1800s. Thins do seem a lot simpler then but... what would I miss most? Toilets. Indoor plumbing. No question.
I couldn't agree with you more!
