Oh no she di-n't and other crappy stuff

Yesterday morning I stepped on the scale before I got into the shower and discovered that I am one pound below my pre-pregnancy weight. Not much, to be sure, but a positive move on the scale...and one that hopefully continues despite my continued craving for sweets.

We got back home on Saturday to a house with few groceries so I went out to get some groceries yesterday afternoon. K was napping, and M and D were with me. We stopped by my parents' house and it was decided that M and D would stay there while I attempted to get groceries on my own.

On my way to the store it occurred to me that I hadn't brought the diaper bag. I needed to get wipes anyway, but I picked up some newborn diapers as well, just in case D pooped while I was at the store. I buzzed around the store picking up the rest of the miscellaneous items we (or I) decided we needed and headed for the checkout.

The woman at the checkout began the task of scanning my items without much talk until she picked up the diapers.

You know where this is going don't you?

Oh, you'll be needing these in a couple months or so huh?

Blank stare.

Or are you farther along than that?

Dagger. To. My. Heart.

Actually, my baby is 4 weeks old. Ha. So there. Feel like a jerk now lady.

Oh! Well, now is the hard part huh? Losing all that baby weight...

By now she starts to feel the pain of my stare.

No, I've lost all my weight already.

Oh, gosh! You're making me feel bad.

Um. Good?

Today I had a follow-up appointment for my kidney stone. As far as I can tell, it hasn't passed. There is still blood in my urine and other "markers" are present in my urine, but they don't know for sure that it hasn't passed. So, I have to have another CT scan tomorrow afternoon. If it's still there then I need to see a urologist to decide what to do next.

And also K has continued to crap his underwear without fail. No potty for the poopie apparently. Last week on vacation he was also peeing his pants occasionally but I chalked that up to being out playing. Then this morning he peed his pants while in the bathroom. Yeah, not happy about that. So I put him in a pull-up. I'm at a loss at what to do with him. At what point do I need to take him to see a doctor? I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with him physically.

Also, D chose that moment to do her first blow-out-of-the-diaper-and-up-the-back-all-over-the-clothes poop.

Good times.

Been there. Only it was at Walmart and Annika was about a year old. Ouch!

I wouldn't worry too much about K. He's probably just regressing due to Ms. D's arrival. Owen still does the pull up thing at night and wet underpants are a normal sighting in this household.

Agreed on the regression, give him a little time (although that makes it hard on you, he is no longer the baby!)

The lady at the store is a dork! Who says those things!

Oh. My. God. So sorry, but you know what, you are totally on your way to losing however much weight you want. As for the onseie blow outs...can't help you there.

I know it happens all the time, but it never fails to amaze me how clueless people can be!!

Your weight is amazing! Don't listen to strangers who don't know what you've been through.

I hope your stone passes soon, sounds horrible.

I have nothing but hatred for people who feel the need to comment on anything related to babies, mommies and weight. What a hag!

How are you losing weight at all while breastfeeding? The constant intense hunger is impossible for me to ignore. Everyone promised it would make me super skinny, but it really just makes me super hungry.

Someone asked me if I was pregnant the other day, thanks to my snazzy empire waist shirt.... no?

It might be worth a visit to the doctor to see if your little guy needs a stool softener - sometimes, kids hold it in until it hurts and hten soil themselves. Gross!

yeah, been there done that!! I've asked a new neighbor if she had the baby yet, and she did...2 WKS ago!! So, been there! And I swear I'd never do that again!!

Hope you'll pass your kidney stone soon.

ohmigod WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS! i have a new policy of NEVER asking about a woman's pregnancy unless she offers it up first. i never ever want to make that mistake. what a stinker.

What??!! The nerve. I cannot believe that this STILL happens? Are people idiots? So sorry it happened to you, but hey, congrats on losing the weight. That's quick!
