New stuff at our house:
Our computer has new digs. Which let me use the old computer table for my new scrappin' and sewing table. I need to get Craig to put up my IKEA light for me since apparently graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Mass Communications does not prepare you to install a simple light.
Cheesy 80s Movie:
I watched Xanadu again last night. I haven't seen the movie for many years but I remember I liked it as a kid. I like the cheesy songs still. The movie, however, is wrong on so many levels.
First, white, knee-length boots.
Poor Gene Kelly...apparently his love with the alien Olivia Newton-John was not great enough for her to become mortal for him. Sucks to be him.
Angst, accompanied by roller-skating.
Being able to run and jump into a painting. Sweet.
Oh, sorry, not an alien...a MUSE. Pardon me.
The white with purple polka-dots flowey outfit. Yikes.
The. Acting. Is. So. Natural.
Seriously funny stuff:
Okay so it's from last November, but it makes me laugh every time I read it. And really, some days are just like that.
Sooo, WTF?
My daughter's school is trying to send me over the edge. What with all the late start, early release lingo I have no idea what we're doing on those days. One thing says on late start days that they start at 11:15. School newsletter sent home says 10:50. So I called the school. Time is supposed to be 10:50. I take her to school yesterday and note that the marquee out front says "late start Monday 10:30." Huh? Good Lord, does anyone know what time school starts on Monday?
Then the newsletter says that September 14th is an early release day. Calendar? Late start day. Phone call. It, apparently is supposed to be a late start day. Thank goodness they aren't making anything confusing for us newbies.
Tuesday I'm chaperoning the first field trip of the year with M's class. I'll let you know how it goes if I survive.
Church
Yep, summer is drawing to a close so our absence from church will end as well. I've committed to teaching Sunday school again but am assured that there will be wonderful lesson plans ready and a new music component. If this pans out all year it will be really great for the kids. Um. Not holding my breath though. I think I might be a glutton for punishment. Oh, but Dateline says that giving and volunteering has physical benefits for people. Sooo, someday I'll be thinner because I volunteered. Or maybe I should just donate all my food like Kurt suggested. (Not about me specifically, but I think he has a good point!)
New camera
My Dad got a new camera this week so I tried it out yesterday while K and I were visiting. I took about 25 photos with his camera and, naturally got some really nice shots of K. Wouldn't want to pose like that when Mom has OUR camera out now, would we?
That's all I got for now.

I love to scrapbook...I just don't get to...I have a closet full of things that I plan on using one day...for now I just take thousands of photos and in about 18 years when the kids are all in college I might find the time...
Sounds like the school is teaching you to stay on your toes.
Love the new digs for the computer!! And I'm counting down to 9/5!!
Oh, I forgot all about that movie till now. That was a fun song.
