Oh my gosh, she's in

Sooo, it sunk in shortly after I received the news that M will be going to the choice school. It's a year-round school, and all-day, every day Kindergarten. The year-round calendar is as such that the kids attend school for 45 days, then have a 15 day break, with a slightly longer 6 week break in the summertime.

It has occurred to me that this schedule means that the first day of school is at the end of July instead of in September. My baby girl will be starting Kindergarten literally days after her 5th birthday.

More importantly, I will have to drive my little girl to school and leave her there...more than a month sooner than I thought.

Waaaaaahhh! I'm getting all choked up already.

Take a deep breath. It will all be all right! M is going to love it, and you will love the schedule. I just know it.

Congratulations! I'm glad you got your school of choice. Year round schooling seems like a really good idea in terms of retention and now she won't have to miss all her new friends over summer breaks. My poor Kiana will be a month or so away from being 6 before they let her start because her birthday was in October. I guess there's always preschool!

Yikes! It's so sad isn't it? My son starts kindergarten in Sept. I can't even stand to think about it yet.

Congrats on getting her in! My son is 3 and one of the best schools nearby is a year-round, which I've been researching. I can't believe I'm already having to think about k'garten. I feel for ya!
